No esthetician would deny the importance of sun protection. Skin cancer
is the most common form of cancer in the United States, with more than
2 million new cases diagnosed each year—many of which could have
been prevented by proper protection. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the
sun also contributes to hyperpigmentation and other skin damage, and is
responsible for up to 90 percent of premature skin aging.
