These "things" may bring you joy for a little while, but if you think a little deeper about where you are in your career, where you want to be, and how you're going to get there, you may realize that your long-term success as a skin care professional won't come from tangible things you buy for your practice. Enrichment starts with small shifts—like mini goals that are attainable and easy to achieve. These shifts can cause a ripple eff ect in your business, improving the client experience, growing your client base, and creating an opportunity for your spa to evolve into something bigger and more sustainable. CONSIDER YOUR CLIENT ASSESSMENTS Skin assessment is a priority. It's the fi rst step in a treatment protocol and a practice I consistently preach to my team of estheticians. In our line of work, clients book appointments and our day is planned and prescribed with facials, waxing, laser, etc. We settle into a routine of administering services that becomes second nature to us, and that can lead to getting comfortable. In our routine, we see both new guests and familiar faces, and it's easy to skip the assessment because, well, we know skin and we know our services—especially when it comes to familiar clients. In settling into this position of comfort, we lose sight of our purpose and meaning.
