The report finds that 95 percent of those surveyed intend to spend the same or more money on beauty in 2024 compared to 2023, which is unsurprising compared to a similar trend seen from 2022 to 2023. Increased spending is being driven primarily by price increases and a desire to maintain wellness and self-care routines, followed by a desire to try something fun and new. Just over half of respondents plan to spend more on daily skin care in 2024, while 58 percent plan to spend more on male grooming. Large percentages of those surveyed expect to spend more on beauty and wellness supplements, facial tools, sun care, and hair treatment products. The report also finds that purchases are being heavily driven by product efficacy and functionality over "clean beauty" claims, and product discovery is dominated by personal research and in-store or online browsing.
