"Our company's leadership structure is one that allows employees a forum for creativity and an opportunity to work as a team rather than as a hierarchy." —Shannon Esau ascp now offers advanced modality insurance! ascpskincare.com/ami 45 Rhonda Allison Cosmeceuticals Q: How did Rhonda Allison Cosmeceuticals come to be? A: The founder, Rhonda Allison, was passionate about skin care from a young age. As a result, Rhonda became a licensed esthetician, an experience that provided her the opportunity to observe the skin in a whole new light. Having realized that fresh, quality-driven active ingredients could truly make a change to the skin, Rhonda was inspired to create her own line of science-based formulas, forever changing the landscape of skin care for countless esthetic professionals and discerning consumers. Q: Rhonda Allison is known for its peels. Why that focus? A: In the 1990s, the only peel available to estheticians was a glycolic acid peel. Seeking to change this, Rhonda worked with doctors and chemists to develop acid solutions that could make signifi cant changes to the skin without the risk associated with medical procedures. This opened the doors for the esthetic world, as little was known about skin peels at the time. Rhonda began educating and empowering other estheticians to be able to understand the skin and get lasting results through TCA blends, salicylic acid, and several other combinations. Looking to continue raising industry standards, Rhonda set to writing a professional instructional book called Cooking with Acids. Q: Anything new on the horizon you can share? A: This year, we're focusing on a long-standing problem in esthetics: pigmentation issues. Now, more than ever before, esthetic professionals are looking for support in addressing this concern. Our 2019 signature treatments are focused on reducing pigmentation, brightening skin tone, and strengthening the skin. We're releasing a few products, such as a new booster that uses lotus fl ower to inhibit tyrosinase activity, a cooling gel mask that uses several fl ower essences to heal and repair skin tissue, and the O2 Vitalixir, a serum that works in tandem with oxygen nebulizers to enhance energy production and soothe irritated skin.
