Glossary Body Wrap—A type of beauty treatment involving the application of a mask to the body, which is then wrapped in hot towels, mylar, or plastic. Dry Brushing—The process of removing dead skin and opening pores (which allows for better absorption of the mask) by brushing dry skin with a firm-bristled brush. Mask—A concoction of nourishing or detoxifying ingredients, such as algae, clay, mud, seaweed, or shea butter, that is slathered on the body before wrapping. Scrub—A mixture of an exfoliant (such as sugar, salt, or jojoba beads) and an oil that is worked into the skin to slough off dead cells and increase blood flow to the surface.
