As estheticians, our goal is to care for and
treat our clients' skin care needs, often
putting their comfort before our own. For
us, a full day of client care encompasses
facials, waxing, advanced skin treatments,
and more. Additionally, we work at our
computers researching the latest technology
and information, and then tend to all of our
obligations outside of the workplace. It's no
wonder our necks hurt at the end of the day.
Neck-and-Neck Stats
The neck has a most important role: it not only supports our
head, which weighs an average of 11 pounds, but it houses the
arteries that supply blood to our brain. This vital fl ow affects a
variety of wellness aspects; when that fl ow is impaired, pain and
imbalance occurs.
One in 10 adults suffers from neck pain, and in the United
States, 1 percent of all physician and hospital visits are for neck
pain.
