"It's the ultimate back and neck massage. Most of the clients who receive the Express Massage have pain in the same spot from working at a computer all day." Express services are marketed through email to existing clients and social media. "Throughout the holidays, we do packages that include a mix of offerings, which often include express treatments," says Sheri Bower, Gene Juarez director of marketing. Both Bower and Nolin say the type of client who prefers express treatments includes stay-at-home parents who can come in when the kids are in school, people who are looking to save money, and businesspeople. "Those who have the express treatments tend to come back and have a longer treatment. We often see that they join our spa membership program too," Nolin says. "If someone is on the fence about trying a full service," Nolin says, "the express services are a great introduction to our salons and spas." THE SPA AT WHITEFACE LODGE Opened in 2005, The Spa at Whiteface Lodge is located on New York's Lake Placid. Spa Manager Elise Ruocco says the 25-minute HydraFacial is one of the spa's most popular treatments. "The advanced tech of the HydraFacial combined with the nutritional benefits of the products leaves clients with softer, brighter, and healthier skin," Ruocco says. "Resurfacing and hydration are the keys to skin replenishment and this facial provides both in big doses, while keeping the treatment time to a manageable 25 minutes." "During the holidays, people are trying to squeeze in spa time when they are visiting families, so this is when we see the most express massages and facials sold." —Elise Ruocco, The Spa at Whiteface Lodge
