Peace of mind for your property. Add Business Personal Property Insurance at ascpskincare.com 69 I live with atypical trigeminal neuralgia (ATN) and anesthesia dolorosa (AD). When you meet me, I don't look like I'm in pain and you can't tell I'm in pain. But together, these two conditions bring a level of pain that, at times, brings me to my knees. From the constant, stabbing, searing nerve pain of ATN—now impacting all three branches of the trigeminal nerve—to the burning numbness of AD that leaves me accidentally biting the inside of my mouth, the combination is one I wouldn't wish on anyone. In the past six months, I also developed occipital neuralgia, which causes severe pain behind my left ear near my craniotomy site and in my left temporal area. I have undergone two brain surgeries, which provided temporary relief each time before the pain returned stronger than before. I have exhausted nearly every treatment and now live with permanent neuropathic pain. I am sharing my story because as an esthetician and someone living with invisible conditions, I want to see spas made as accessible as possible. Modifying treatments for clients with invisible conditions by Laura Hunnewell KEY POINT Clients who have invisible conditions may require accommodations in your treatment room.
