56 ASCP Skin Deep Spring 2025 BREE MESQUIT IS A REBEL. She has the cool kid demeanor of James Dean mixed with authenticity, kindness, and true grit. One second, she's a savvy businesswoman running her successful company and creating content for her social media accounts and podcast, The Rebel Show. The next, she's tending to her cattle and fowl on her property in Bend, Oregon. Next, she's raising her three kids—aged 14, 9, and 7— alongside her husband of 10 years. She goes against norms with all her complexities, and that's exactly how she likes it. It's no wonder her company's hard and soft wax products are called "Rebel Wax." Bree has always been authentic to herself in forging her own path. After losing her mother at a young age, Bree was adopted by her grandparents who were executives in their industries. While pregnant with her third child, Bree rented a treatment room and scaled it quickly, achieving an illustrious six-figure income in less than a year. During this time, she also built her social media presence, filling a gap she saw in the industry. Another gap she filled was one she saw in the treatment room. What began as a passion project to create an attractive and functional pad for her waxing table turned into the first product for her company Lash and Wax OC. Due to her brand's success, Bree left behind the salon life and jumped into brand building full time. Bree's journey isn't one without road bumps. She lost her grandmother when Bree was just finding her footing. "My grandmother's passing marked 20 years almost to the day of my mother's death, and the grief was overwhelming," she says. "Despite taking a short leave to grieve, I knew I had to push forward." She also experienced immense burnout when first finding success with her brand. At one point, when Bree was still working in Newport Beach, she consistently traveled more than 800 miles back and forth between her salon and her family's home in Bend. But she faced every challenge head-on with
