The Scope 22 ASCP Skin Deep Winter 2025 A new study from researchers at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA suggests that gene therapy can be used to develop acne treatments. The study looked at six subjects, with researchers mapping signaling pathway distributions for normal and acne-affected skin. A comparative analysis of 49 individual pathways in seven cell types resulted in the findings suggesting dysregulated signaling pathways could be modulated through gene therapy. This is promising news for acne product formulators who might have a new way to create treatments, especially ones that target acne in the early stages of development.
