Add your own text to that cat, that cartoon dinosaur, that kid in the flannel shirt, and all the other images you keep seeing all over the Internet. Connect Fashion to Your Services Fashion is especially big on Pinterest, though the following ideas are just as good for Facebook. You are in front of a huge potential audience interested in anything involving clothes, hair, makeup, and shoes. Maybe you're thinking, "What does my skin care practice have to do with clothes?" Here's how to turn the Internet's love of fashion to your advantage. When you see an interesting photo of a new trend, celebrity style, or unique item of clothing, pin and repost it with a comment that connects it to your services in some way. For example: •  An exfoliating body scrub will get you " ready for this back-baring dress!" •  Don't you love her brows? Come in " today and we can help you get the same look." •  Shoes like this?! You're going to need " our express pedicure. Special rate for this month only." Become the "How-To" Expert Think about what people want to know. What did you want to know about skin care before you began your esthetics training? What education do your clients need? Post your tips and tricks, using photos and videos whenever possible. Brainstorm 10 ideas for each of these starters: •  How to get the ________ look. •  How to enhance your _________. •  Step-by-step daily ___________. •  Today's quick beauty tip. •  Today's quick skin health tip. •  Today's quick relaxation tip. Go with the Flow Notice a trend in what people share? Get on the bandwagon! Don't just share someone else's post (although you should be doing that, too), but think about how you can use the broader trend. Create your own take on whatever funny pictures or jokes are popular. Being professional doesn't always mean being serious. The more fun your audience is having, the more views, shares, and buzz you receive. The Upshot The best social media marketing emphasizes the social part, not the marketing. If you enjoy connecting with others, you are more than halfway there. If you are excited about what you do, and are happy to share for the pure joy of sharing, you will probably find the business benefits will take care of themselves.
