Take Out the Camera In addition to your planned posts, regularly set aside time to comment, like, pin, and share—in other words, be sociable! Your social media strategy must include time to read and interact with what other people post, without pushing your own agenda. They will be motivated and encouraged that you cared enough to read their posts, you will be inspired by what you see others doing, and the synergy will have a significant effect on building your own audience. Pictures are by far the best content to use on Facebook and Pinterest. Posts that include a picture will attract the most interest and maximize the likelihood that your clients will share with their friends. Take a little time with your photography. These days, even the most basic cell phone can take good photos if you set up your shots well. There are lots of great photography tips online, so do a bit of research on composition and lighting. Here are some photography ideas to get you started: •  ost before-and-after pictures of facials, P makeovers, or skin treatments. •  f you do hairstyling, makeup, or I nails, come up with some unusual or outrageous looks and take pictures showing how you achieved them. •  ake pictures of your spa, close-ups of T any interesting or recently updated décor, or shots of newly added equipment. •  llustrate your use of a particular I technique or piece of equipment in a series of pictures. Be sure to get permission from your clients—both for taking the pictures in the first place and for posting them on social media. Don't be camera shy yourself. Repost your Pinterest pics to Facebook where you can include a little story or a more-detailed description of what each picture shows. People love stories. You can also create separate photo albums on Facebook to showcase a particular topic or event, or to describe a process.
