MASSAgE Depending on your level of expertise, an extended hand, foot, or scalp massage is an easy add-on if it's within your state's scope of practice. All it takes is a bit more labor and love from you, and your client will appreciate the extra attention. Charge between $5 and $25, or charge by the minute. NECK/DÉCOLLETÉ TREATMENTS These are two more areas not to be overlooked. Simply extend any facial into the neck and/or décolleté area for an extra charge. Some estheticians will double the price of the facial in order to accommodate the extra time and products used for this treatment. You can charge between $40 and $100, depending on your base prices. PEELS There really is a peel for everyone. If your client could use a more aggressive treatment, offer a peel. You can charge anywhere from $20 to $100 for this treatment, depending on the product. SERuMS Apply a specialty serum during the facial. Only a few drops are usually needed, which keeps your costs down, and professionals can usually purchase serums in singleuse ampoules or back-bar pumps. You can apply it after extractions, during facial massage (with wet hands, instead of massage oil or cream), under a mask, and/or at the final pass of the hands before you apply sunblock. Depending on the cost of the product, you can charge between $5 and $30 for this special treatment. Enhancing your Practice Offering these customized add-ons will help your clients get the most out of their treatments. Have confidence that what you're offering is worth the money, have a suitable add-on in mind for every service a client might book, and suggest the most relevant one for her goals and skin type. As estheticians, we rely on our clients' trust to lead to referrals and new business. Don't let anything hold you back from offering the best service possible, whether it's a simple facial or one with enhancements. You will find these small add-ons will quickly "add on" to your revenue, your results, and, best of all, your clients' satisfaction.
