BASIC PROTOCOL STEPS
1. Assessment: Just as with faces,
every rear is unique.
2. Steaming: Helps open pores and
prep the skin for the next steps.
3. Cleansing: Most treatments include
double cleanse prior to exfoliation.
4. Exfoliation: Because folliculitis
on the bum is fairly common, this
is an important step in creating a
results-driven treatment. You can use
manual or mechanical exfoliation
options. Many backside treatments
include the use of microdermabrasion,
hydrodermabrasion, or devices
such as ultrasonic scrubbers.
5. Masking: Single or double
masking is recommended and can
vary depending on your preference
and assessment. Popular masking
ingredient options include seaweed,
salicylic acid, kaolin clay, or tea tree oil.
6. Toning: Toning shrinks pores,
restores pH, and provides additional
protection prior to moisturizing.
7. Moisturizing: Depending on your
assessment, a moisturizer can be
applied.
ADVANCED OPTIONS
AND ADD-ONS
You can create a menu of add-ons
or enhancements to your basic bum
service. This may include waxing, laser
hair removal, or spray tanning. If it's in
your scope of practice, you could also
offer extended glute massage as an
option. If your scope of practice permits
it, or you are working under a medical
director, other popular enhancements
include radio frequency, LED
treatments, cellulite treatments, and
other body contouring options. Medical
