Let's Get Intimate
FROM THE EDITOR
The last time I got a
spray tan, I jokingly said
to my esty, "I think you
see me naked more than
my husband does." She
laughed and replied,
"You wouldn't believe
how many women say
that to me."
As our staff was developing
and talking about what would
be included in this very special
issue about intimate skin care
services, it was clear to me who
went to an esthetician regularly
and who did not.
Because those of us who
see our esty every 4–6 weeks
understand the deeply personal
and trusting relationship that
develops. We bare it all in that
treatment room, knowing our
esty is skilled, thoughtful, and nonjudgmental.
We know that we will be taken care of in the most
professional and safest of spaces.
A walk around the exhibitor floor at June's IECSC
Las Vegas confirmed what I already knew—the
demand for intimate skin care services like waxing,
sugaring, vagacials, and the like are growing, and
new product lines developed specifically for these
services were on full display.
I hope you enjoy this issue and are inspired to add
a few new services to your menu.
Cheers,
Mary Barthelme Abel
