12 september/october 2017 FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR It has been an eventful year for ASCP! We've met many milestones so far, and it's only autumn! We're in the middle of celebrating our 10-year anniversary, which was the catalyst for this exceptional issue of ASCP Skin Deep, featuring our 1st Annual Readers' Choice Awards. In January, we had the honor of hosting the fi rst-ever ASCP Skin Care Summit, where thousands of estheticians joined us online for a day of education. We've grown our webinar library to more than 130 on-demand courses, and enjoyed the company of thousands of estheticians during our live webinars. In August, we had a VIP lounge at the Face & Body trade show in San Jose where we honored our Readers' Choice Award winners and enjoyed chatting with members and industry leaders. And we even reached another major milestone: adding the 17,000th esthetician to our ASCP family. This year also brought change to ASCP, as we said goodbye to our president, Katie Armitage, who retired in May after more than 22 years of service. It is through Katie's leadership that we were able to grow ASCP into the largest and most powerful organization of skin care professionals in the United States—with a robust portfolio of member benefi ts to match. It is through Katie's legacy that we will continue to grow ASCP with even more innovative off erings and impressive benefi ts for our members. While Katie leaves me with fabulous shoes to fi ll as the new steward of ASCP, I am committed to being your advocate, your cheerleader, and your challenger—all in an eff ort to help you reach your own career milestones. Our talented team is completely focused on satisfying the needs of our members by enhancing your experiences, improving our off erings, and responding to your insights.
