Be Ready for
the Next Big Job
Whether you are looking for your first
job or thinking about making a change,
these tips will help you organize your
job search.
1. Update or create a brief, one-page
resume. You are more likely to get a
call or interview with a summary rather
than a novel about your skills, training,
and abilities.
2. Collect rave reviews. Keep and make copies
of instructor evaluations, online reviews, or
thank-you notes from clients.
3. Check your social media files. Hide or delete—
and stop posting—any posts or pictures that
you would not like a future employer to see.
4. Develop your list of references and have them
ready to go. Ask permission now for those that
you want to use as personal or professional
