No matter how much progress is made, the pigmentation will return if skin continues to be exposed to the sun. OLIGOPEPTIDE-10 (ALTERNATIVE TO BENZOYL PEROXIDE) This peptide targets acne, killing the bacteria associated with acne breakouts. It is especially suited for formulations that use salicylic acid, as the two ingredients create a synergistic effect when used together. Since salicylic acid exfoliates and balances the skin, oligopeptide-10 can more effectively kill bacteria. At the same time, the bacteria reduction allows the salicylic acid to be effective in concentrations as low as 0.5 percent, resulting in a much lower risk of irritation. This powerful combination can be used in place of benzoyl peroxide, which causes dryness and irritation for some clients. The Future of Skin Care With more than 3.2 million peptides theoretically possible from the combinations of amino acids our bodies can use, 2 the potential future of these super-signaling ingredients is wide-ranging.
