The esty circle is small." —Mary Nielsen BECOME SOCIAL The Pew Research Center reports 70 percent of Americans use social media. 2 This isn't too surprising, but take a minute to really let that statistic sink in . . . 7 in 10 potential clients use social media daily. Now, think about your own social media use. How many times have you compared services, made a purchase, or scheduled an appointment because a text, email, or virtual assistant (Alexa, Google, Siri, etc.) suggested it? How do you get in on the social media action? Ngozi suggests creating a business page on Facebook and Instagram, for starters. This is great advice since Pew reports 75 percent of Facebook users and 60 percent of Instagram users visit these sites at least once per day. 3 Laughable, right? NETWORK CREATIVELY Remember when networking meant meeting up—in person—with potential clients and colleagues? Seems like a faint memory, but hopefully we will be gathering again soon. In the meantime, networking is still a valuable tool. Use free video conferencing, such as Zoom (free for 40 minutes without a subscription), Facebook Messenger, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Skype, etc. Face-to-face meetings, check-ins, or chats— even virtually—are great ways to grow your business and build strong client relationships. CREATE DEMAND "Service begins before a client ever opens the door," Sarfati says. "To do this, create a compelling social presence on all platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
