IT CERTAINLY IS EASY TO feel alone in the
world these days. With pandemic-imposed
isolation and spas and salons opening,
closing, and reopening (and sometimes
closing for good), being able to hold on
to something and feel secure may seem
like a bygone luxury. So, if you feel like
you're afloat in your own little lifeboat
at times, I'm here to tell you you're not
alone. We're in the people biz because
we're people people. Your colleagues,
friends, and even your most formidable
competitors feel exactly the same. What
better way to combat isolation, loneliness,
and the fear of the Great Unknown than to
contribute to something, become part of
a like-minded group, and enact change?
The best way to begin is to look for
regional groups and check out what they
have to offer. Does their mission resonate
with you? Explore spa, beauty, and wellness
groups within your community. Can't
find any? Then it may be time to create
your own. Community leaders are people
who rise to the occasion and step up to
help with whatever tools and passion they
have. Small steps often lead very quickly to
significant change and accomplishment.
There is no better time to begin than now.
