While that's a great thing, it creates a whole host of new pitfalls that businesses can fall into even after surviving the COVID economic collapse. Zenreach CEO John Kelly offers three mistakes that brick-and-mortar businesses should avoid at all costs as they look to expand their reopening efforts: 1. Letting your guard down This pandemic is far from over and hard- learned lessons about keeping patrons safe should not be forgotten in the rush to reopen. Keep those best practices going, and keep an eye on those that should be permanent improvements. 2. Cutting your marketing budget As businesses reopen, the retail and restaurant environment will be extremely competitive, since many simply do not have the discretionary budgets they once had. Targeted and effective marketing can keep you front- of-mind as the market starts to thaw. 3. Not having a closing plan The impact of this virus has been extremely volatile, with businesses reopening only to close again a few weeks later. Have a plan to deal with reduced traffic that offers as little disruption as possible.
