Remove the scrub with wet, warm towels, and then cover the back with a dry, hot towel. Repeat this process for both legs. Make sure the scrub is thoroughly removed before draping with a dry towel and proceeding. Have the client turn over on their back, and apply soothing eye pads saturated in tea extract. Proceed with massage on the arms and legs, first spraying with alcohol, and then gently buffing with a dry brush. Work systematically. Once finished, proceed with the application of sugar scrub, and massage onto each arm and leg with hot stones, one at a time. Remove scrub with hot, wet towels one at a time, as well, covering with a dry, hot towel. Make sure the scrub is thoroughly removed. Finish the service with a rich body cream or body oil that contains ingredients to help strengthen and restore the skin barrier. HONEY BODY POLISH Based on honey, almond, and oatmeal polish, this mild exfoliating spa body treatment for all ages helps remove dead skin cells and hydrates skin. The ingredients can also be mixed with yogurt, hot milk, or almond milk to add a natural, mild lactic acid exfoliation. Spa Protocol (55 minutes) Place honey body polish mixture in a rubber bowl. Combine an equal amount of buttermilk or plain yogurt and mix until it reaches a smooth consistency. Keep the polish warm by placing the bowl in hot water or a hot cabin. Prepare the table with a flat sheet and a plastic or Mylar sheet. Ask the client to lie facedown on top of the Mylar sheet. Begin massaging the client with the honey body polish, starting on the back, buttocks, legs, and feet. Turn the client over, and massage the legs, stomach, and chest area. The total massage should last about 20 minutes. Cover the client with a Mylar sheet and a blanket. Apply soothing eye pads and leave the client wrapped for 20 minutes. Unwrap the client and ask them to shower off the product. Remove the Mylar sheet from the bed and replace with fresh towels. After the shower, proceed with a 15-minute massage using a seaweed-based body cream or oil. DEAD SEA SALT BODY SCRUB This is an exfoliating body treatment for drier, coarser skin types that uses Dead Sea salts as a key ingredient. Seaweed, aloe, and peppermint oil can be added to help stimulate the senses while softening the skin. Delicate areas, such as the décolleté and chest, should be avoided. Do not perform on anyone who has just shaved. Spa Protocol (55 minutes) Ask the client to lie facedown on the table and massage their entire body with Dead Sea salt scrub using effleurage and petrissage movements. Turn the client over and continue massaging salts onto the front of the body. Focus on the elbows, knees, and soles of the feet. Cover the body with a plastic sheet and let the client rest for 10 minutes. (During this time, apply soothing eye pads and administer a pressure-point massage.) Have the client shower, and then proceed with an application of the body cream or oil for 15 minutes. You can add 3–5 drops of peppermint essential oil to massage their legs and feet for a refreshing effect. FOOT PEEL This treatment is the perfect spa upgrade to restore feet (pre-pedicure) by decreasing dryness, improving skin texture, and helping with callus removal. Spa Protocol (30 minutes) Sanitize the client's feet with 80 percent alcohol hand sanitizing spray. Exfoliate the legs and feet using dry brushes with light effleurage movements. Using a disposable brush, apply a mild glycolic peel that contains gotu kola and licorice extract on the heels and soles of the feet. (Make sure to avoid any cracks or cuts on the skin!) Keep the peel on for 10 minutes; remove with a warm towel. Spray the feet with a buffered toner to rebalance skin pH, and then massage with body cream for 10 minutes. Make sure to work the cream thoroughly into the heel and the driest parts of the foot. Follow with a full spa pedicure. EXFOLIATING HAND TREATMENT This is an essential treatment for clients after extreme weather exposure or before important events to dramatically improve hand appearance. Spa Protocol (30 minutes; 50 minutes with manicure) Wearing gloves, apply a mild glycolic peel evenly to the hands and leave on for 5–7 minutes. Remove with water. Follow with a moisturizing serum and moisturizing
