FROM THE EDITOR
As we wrap up our second
Esty of the Year issue, I
can honestly say it has
become my favorite
issue to produce. Several
months before we start
production, I get to read all
the submissions we receive
from our members, and
then begin the challenging
task of choosing a winner.
All the submissions we receive
are amazing; the stories you tell us
about your journey to an esthetics
career are so honest, so heartfelt,
that choosing just one winner can be
a bit painful. My sincere thanks to
everyone who participated.
Our 2020 Esty of the Year is
Jessica Marie. A true warrior, Jessica
fought all manner of dragons on
her personal journey, and she slayed them all. Now a successful
esthetician and business owner, you will find her story truly
inspirational.
But Jessica's story is just the beginning of the inspiration
you'll find in this spring issue. We also talk about rethinking
client consultations (page 62). Do your intake forms ask the
questions you really need answers to in order to provide the
perfect skin care program? Give the article a read and then
consider whether your intake needs a little rewrite.
We also give some good info about apps and social media in
the feature "10 Apps for Esties" (page 68). We're all familiar with
(if not bombarded with) digital media, but are you using it to
your business's best advantage? Check it out and see if there are
a few tips you can put into practice today.

LOVE IT!
I'm always on a mad search for products that help with
hydration and moisture retention, so I was excited to try
HydroPeptide's new concoction, the Hydro-Lock Sleep
Mask. It's so, so nice. Not goopy or sticky, this pillow-
proof mask smooths and hydrates skin overnight with a
blend of oleic acid and licorice root. $110 (2.5 ounces);
