Look at each piece as though you have little- to-no context—like you're reading your materials for the first time—and describe what you see. Are you seeing stereotypical messages in your marketing materials you weren't aware of before this exercise? As an extra step, ask a trusted friend or colleague to offer their opinion on your marketing materials. Outside eyes may see gray areas you didn't realize existed. Your Inclusion Style: Friendly or Affirming? After reflecting on your current marketing strategies, you have determined to promote your business in a more inclusive way. Marketing Matters Going forward, businesses must prove their inclusivity values, and they must be more transparent when it comes to how they support the movement toward total inclusivity.
