FROM THE EDITOR
You already know—and
preach to your clients—
the importance of using
professional skin care
products. But do you
feel the same way about
professional cosmetic
lines? Do you offer
professional makeup
to your clients?
As Lauren Snow writes in
her ar ticle, "The Lipstick Ef fect"
(page 54), "When it comes to
beaut y products, if your clients
aren't buying it from you, they
are absolutely buying it from
someone else."
Chances are, your clients
wear makeup. And if they're like
me, par t of the f un is finding
the perfect color of lipstick or
that seemingly elusive mascara
that doesn't f lake or smudge. Why should they be
hunting for lesser-qualit y cosmetics in the dr ugstore
aisle, tr ying to decide through the packaging if that
foundation is the right shade for them, when they
could be rela xing and actually tr ying out the good
stuf f with you? Snow's ar ticle of fers sound advice
and lots of tips for turning cosmetics into a retail
gold mine.
And the pièce de résistance to a face—and maybe
your business—is having fabulous lashes and brows.
What used to be a ser vice for special occasions or a
quick add-on (years ago my hairst ylist would wa x
my brows for free while my color processed) are now
entire businesses, suppor ted with a wide range of
qualit y tools and products.
