How do you see yourself evolving? Aging happens. We cannot stop it, but we can educate our clients about how to bring it to a level where they can be comfortable. What are your stumbling blocks? Ask the client what is standing in the way of achieving his or her desired image. This question couldn't be more direct and will allow you to really be specific with your coaching plan. Step 3: Move to a Booking As the final step in your consultation, take baseline snapshots: both full-face and profile, without makeup. Depending on the client's goals and what services you provide, you may also need clothed full-body pictures. Print out copies for you and for the client, and mark the areas of concern that you have already discussed. This is a powerful tool. After explaining your suggested treatment plan, speak as though you assume there will be a next appointment. Tell the client that you would like her to come in within the next two weeks to start working on the highest priority items from her wish list. If the client is reluctant to book, talk about home care (making sure to add that the process will be quicker with a combination of home-care and professional treatments). Give out a few samples, and recommend just one product that you feel this client should have above all else. Finally, be sure to give clients your business card and invite them to call you with any further questions. After a week or two, start calling those who did not book. Ask how the products or samples are working, and if they would like to come in again to see other products or services. And, of course, you will also follow up with those who did book, to remind them of their upcoming appointment and what they need to bring along. Step 4: Clean the Slate Your client's first session will have two goals. First comes the therapeutic facial or other service that's necessary to fulfill (or begin to fulfill) wish list items 1 and 2. Ask the client what is standing in the way of achieving his desired image. This question couldn't be more direct and will allow you to really be specific with your coaching plan.
