According to a new study presented at the National Meeting & Exposition of the
American Chemical Society (ACS), maple leaves contain a phenolic compound known
as glucitol-core containing gallotannins (GCGs), which can inhibit elastase activity when
slathered on skin. The study also shows these compounds could potentially protect skin
