Thirty fabulous years and I'm still passionate about being an Esthetician. I purchased Personal Reflections skin care center in 1990. I sold it in 2005 and opened Real Transformation skin care treatment and training center in 2009. This is the first year that I don't own a skin care center. My complete focus and passion is now on helping my fellow Estheticians start a new business or take an existing business to the next level. One of the ways I help Estheticians is with Shelley's Show & Tell radio show. For a year and a half I did a weekly one-hour live radio show. I interviewed many fabulous industry icons and did quite a few shows on my own, sharing things that I've learned along the way in this industry. You can listen to all the episodes from my website. This year I'm turning Shelley's Show & Tell radio show into an online TV show. Now instead of just listening to your favorite industry icons, you can actually see them as I interview them! In 2017 I launched The Estheticians Guide to Outstanding Esthetics book. It's an anthology of 17 industry icons sharing their story of how they became successful. This industry can be isolating if you work on your own. Back when I started in the late 80s there was no internet to connect us with one another. Isolation is not quite the same nowadays with all the online groups to join, but reading stories from people in the industry that have created a successful career is always encouraging and that's exactly what this book does: it encourages you to take that leap even when you're filled with fear. I test them for quality, effectiveness, and quick return on investment. Only then do they make it onto my website. I do the leg work for you. I'd like to leave you with what I call food for thought: being happy is the cornerstone of all that you are! Nothing is more important than that you feel good. And you have absolute and utter control about that, because you can choose the thought that makes you worry or the thought that makes you happy; the things that thrill you, or the things that worry you. You have the choice in every moment.
