We have survived the fi rst 17 months. We've had our ups and downs, but are now moving steadily forward. For 2017, I am inspired to work with an additional product line. I brought in an organic small-batch line that I found while visiting Colorado and I am excited to be able to respond to our clients' requests for more green lines and organic treatments. I am also looking forward to expanding my oncology skin care practice. As a national educator for an oncology skin care program, I want to expand the reach I have in the cancer community and do more to give back in service. Sharon Bell, Illume Skin Studio, Stuart, FL Starting in the new year, I will be off ering microcurrent. I feel it is one of the fi nal pieces to my solo business that I've needed to add to my list of services and treatments to get the results clients want in a more holistic approach. I am also looking forward to really focusing on skin health and ongoing education! Charlene Ault, Smooth Esthetics, Fort Collins, CO While it's important to keep up with the trends, we also feel it's important to off er wellness options and educate beyond the beauty routines. We need to give our clients the knowledge and products to glow from within. Taking care of our whole self is important! Marnie McConaghy, Skin in the City, Denver, CO I think people will actually start paying attention to skin care instead of makeup and contouring to hide fl aws, etc. People are starting to realize that it all starts with a good skin care regimen, especially the younger crowd. Masks are all the rage right now in social media. I call them "the gateway skin care product"—once they use a mask, they will seek out stronger, better skin care products. Lisa M. Waters, Beauty & Esthetics by Lisa, Glendora, CA Clients want to wake up and look good. More natural-looking injectables, natural lash enhancement, brow microblading, and less-is-more natural-looking makeup are all on trend with the "no makeup" movement. Your skin has to look great to pull this off . Our industry will benefi t from this movement. Karen Brost, aPeel Skin Spa, Fox Point, WI Answer our next question: What's the most memorable compliment you've received about your services? Email your answer to editor@ascpskincare.com. Your answer could appear in the March/April 2017 issue and may be edited for length and clarity. I am looking forward to an amazing year of continued learning and growing with all my esty and industry leader connections. I look forward to continued success and new opportunities as I start my third year as a skin care specialty business owner. I also look forward to my newest role as a grandma!
