and keeping up with professional
treatments on a regular basis. Short-
term improvement can often be
seen after a single facial treatment,
but real, long-term skin health only
happens when the client is devoted to
following your advice to the letter. This
is especially true in acne-prone, aging,
hyperpigmentation, and sensitive-skin
issues. So, what do you do when a client
is not following your suggestions?
The more straightforward and user-friendly
the process and products, the more likely it is
that the client will perform the daily routine.

during the initial visit is the first step in
a successful skin improvement program.
Sit down with the client and listen to their
concerns, then explain your assessment and
your customized treatment plan. A good
consultation should take about 30 minutes,
so make sure you block off enough time.
