Growing Together
I'm a big fan and frequent
patron of small, locally
owned businesses. I live
in a charming urban
neighborhood and can walk
to wonderful restaurants,
boutiques, and salons whose
owners are also my neighbors.
Supporting these hard-
working entrepreneurs brings
me great joy and satisfaction.
When I accepted this position
at ASCP a year ago, it was the idea
that I could help your businesses
grow that really sealed the deal for
me, and it has made this special
issue so much fun to produce. ASCP
offers so many tools to help you in
your business—I hope you're taking
advantage of them!—and it's my hope
ASCP Skin Deep is just one of them.
This issue specifically focuses
on ways to help you grow your
business. From step-by-step advice

An important way to keep your
business moving forward is to
attend trade shows. Yes, they can
be expensive and time-consuming,
but attending even just one a year
will update you on all the latest and
greatest products and services, teach
you about new trends and techniques,
and put you in touch with hundreds
of other estheticians with whom you
can commiserate and celebrate this
exciting and ever-changing profession.
The International Esthetics,
Cosmetics & Spa Conference New York
is in just a few short weeks (March
6–8), and the whole ASCP team will
be there! We hope you're attending,
too, and look forward to seeing you
at booth 371. In the meantime, enjoy
this issue and let me know which ideas
inspire you to grow your business.
