Overall wellness is a part of my skin care philosophy, so I have established relationships with a yoga instructor, a nutritionist, and a holistic dermatologist to assist my clients. I have focused on building relationships with these individuals so we build a revolving door of new clients for one another. By further connecting with businesses and individuals who match my business's core values, I have been able to maximize a wonderful referral network. Regina Tucker, CRUMM Artisan Skincare Studio, Hyattsville, MD For years, I have partnered with photographers for weddings, events, and photo shoots. First, I find the best photographers in local magazines and contact them directly, sending them my portfolio and resume with an irresistible first- time makeup offer. I know once I have the opportunity to work with them, they'll hire me for their next photo shoot. At that point, we form a cross- referral marketing strategy. I believe people are better in teams, and referrals come naturally if you respect the businesses you refer. Virginia McConnell Brewster, NuLook Makeup & Brow Boutique, Colorado Springs, CO I recently partnered with my hair stylist to offer a package deal with both of our services. [Partnering] gives us both access to clients we may not normally come in contact with. Kristen Docker, Bombshell Skincare & Lashes, Temecula, CA I have partnered with my colleagues and thrown "Pretty Parties," taking turns hosting at each other's salons. Happy hours, beauty brunches, and fundraisers, from which a portion of the proceeds goes to a local charity. And the list goes on. Then, you share lists and cross- promote. Olivia Contreras, Lashes by Liv, San Francisco, CA Answer our next question: Tell us about an "oops" moment you had in the treatment room. How did you recover? Email your answer to editor@ascpskincare.com. Your answer could appear in the May/June 2016 issue and may be edited for length and clarity. ยป
