At a recent trade show I attended, I had the pleasure of talking with many inspirational people— from well-known educators to manufacturers to estheticians of all levels of experience. One of those conversations was with a member of Associated Skin Care Professionals (ASCP) who has been practicing for just under a year. She told me she runs her business from home as an independent esthetician and is doing very well, with more than 100 regular clients already. Her excitement and happiness about her work was evident and inspiring, shining through in everything she said. That enthusiasm, and the obvious sense of care for each client that it implies, is a huge part of what keeps clients coming back. We all know clients have options—going to someone else, taking care of their own skin care needs without professional guidance, or not doing anything at all! Your skills and knowledge may bring them to your door, but the relationship and experience they have with you is what will make them come back again and again. ASCP is here to help you develop and enhance all aspects of the services you provide for your clients. Whether this is your very fi rst issue of ASCP Skin Deep or you've been with us for years, I'm sure you will fi nd many useful and inspirational words of wisdom in these pages to help your practice succeed.
