14 ASCP Skin Deep Student Edition BEAUTY PROFESSIONALS HAVE ALWAYS SEEN the value of having a private space to perform services. No matter what your specialty, the demand for a private and intimate setting for your clientele is ideal, which makes the suite concept ideal. WHAT IS THE SUITE CONCEPT? There have been many names for this fast-growing segment in the industry. At the end of the day, though, the suite concept simply means you have your own private space to perform your services—a suite of your own, whether you work at a spa or own your own business. Suite concepts traditionally provide you with a private space where you hold the key. You pay weekly rent and receive maintenance assistance from the property manager or shop owner. Having a suite allows you the freedom to stop worrying about anything but getting yourself established—and providing extraordinary service to your clientele. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A SUITE? When you own or rent a suite, you have a lot of flexibility. Here are some of the options and benefits to think about when considering the suite life. Atmosphere When you have your own suite, you can create the atmosphere and vibe of your business using interior design, décor, and music. You can select colors that reflect your brand and the feeling you want your clients to have when they walk in the door. Atmosphere starts with sound, then smell, then sight to evoke feeling. With that in mind, be sure to select music, décor, and fragrances that allow you to create an environment your clients will enjoy. Display your mission, vision, and values to clients who enter your suite. Scheduling When you have a suite, you have the freedom to create a schedule that works for you and your clients. While you want to keep a consistent schedule, you have the ability to organize your time based on your demand and your personal scheduling needs. You also get to choose how clients book appointments with you—online, text, phone, or social media platforms.
