FROM THE EDITOR Mary Barthelme Abel, Editor mabel@ascpskincare.com @ascpskincare facebook.com/ascpskincare @ascpskincare Follow us online! 10 ASCP Skin Deep Summer 2022 Celebrating Summer F or me, summer is always a reason to celebrate. After each Colorado winter, I'm excited to pack away my sweaters, get outside, plant my garden, and enjoy what can sometimes be a short growing season. But summer is also full of celebrations in the esthetics industry. Trade shows certainly feel celebratory this year, with everyone so happy to be out and about and meeting in person. Associated Hair Professionals, our sister association for independent hairstylists and barbers, recently hosted its 2nd Annual Industry Choice Awards party at Premiere Orlando, and ASCP celebrated its 6th Annual Readers' Choice Awards winners at IECSC Las Vegas. Cheers to all the winners! If you didn't make it to Vegas this year, you can see our readers' favorite products and devices in this issue (starting on page 64). It has been so exciting to see the increased involvement by you, our ASCP members, as the number of votes we receive every year grows exponentially. I thank all of you for taking time out of your busy lives to participate. Other articles you may enjoy include Lauren Snow's column, "Next-Level Retail," which o ers tips on including products beyond your skin care lines, like candles, jewelry, and gift items. I know when I'm all relaxed from a great treatment and checking out, I'm always ready to make one of those impulse buys from cute items sitting there on the receptionist's counter. I also encourage you to read Lydia Sarfati's feature, "Let's Get Phygital." During the pandemic, many of you successfully pivoted to a digital business model, o ering online consultations and upping your online retail strategies. When your spa reopened and you were back in the treatment room, did you let go of that side of your business? Sarfati argues that you shouldn't and o ers important advice on how to merge your physical and digital customer care. I wish all of you the sunniest of summers, full schedules, business growth, and, of course, celebration. Cheers,
