10 ASCP Skin Deep Spring 2022
A New Beginning
D
oes 2022 feel kind of like a new beginning for you
and your business? Four months into this year, I'm
feeling like I've had a bit of a rebirth after two scary,
uncertain years. As I write this, some of the last COVID-19
restrictions in the country are being lifted. Restaurants
are full, concert venues are booked, vacations are planned.
The world has reopened.
You might notice this issue marks a new beginning
for ASCP Skin Deep as well. We've changed a few things up
and made some improvements, such as better paper, more
pages, and new authors who are experts in their fi eld.
And I think our annual Esty of the Year issue is the
perfect time to introduce our new look, because it's my
favorite issue of the year. The submissions we receive from
our members overwhelm me (in a good way), both in sheer
volume (the number of submissions grows every year) and
in the heartfelt, inspiring stories they share. When I read
them, I can truly feel the hard work and passion you devote
to your careers, and I admire each and every one of you. My
sincerest thanks to everyone who submitted an essay.
It was diffi cult to choose just one, but I'm thrilled to
introduce to you the 2022 Esty of the Year: Regina King.
Read her story on page 60 to learn how her strength,
perseverance, and spiritual faith helped her overcome
the diffi cult challenges life has thrown her way. Like the
stories from past honorees, you are bound to feel inspired
to forge ahead when obstacles try to keep you from your
goals.
I hope you enjoy the new look and feel of ASCP Skin
Deep magazine. Our team is dedicated to delivering the
information and news you need to forge ahead in your
business.
Happy Spring,
