HAVE A THOUGHTFUL MARKETING STRATEGY You don't have to do everything at the same time, but you do need to create a thoughtful marketing plan. Find one strategy that works for your business, like Facebook ads, and stick to it. As you grow, you can branch out to other avenues for marketing. Some people get nervous when they hear the term marketing strategy, but a marketing strategy is simply your way of determining how to achieve a specifi c goal, such as acquiring more clients. It's OK to fi nd one marketing strategy that works and duplicate those eff orts. At that time, you can diversify your marketing strategy with other ways of acquiring clientele (e.g., email marketing, fl yers, referral program, etc.). 2. KNOW WHO YOU ARE TARGETING Believe it or not, everyone or anyone is not a target demographic. I encourage you to dig deep and pinpoint who your clients are. Are they women who suff er from hormonal acne? Women who want an easy way to maintain their beauty by getting lash extensions? Is it men? Skin of color? Think about the demographic you primarily serve currently. Those are the people you should be talking to in your advertising. For example, you currently help or are interested in helping women with hormonal acne. Now dig a little deeper. What age range are those women? What are their main concerns with their skin beyond the obvious? What are some common misconceptions they have about hormonal acne and how it can be treated? How is this type of skin condition aff ecting their lives? You can use all this information to construct the verbiage you will use to target them via email marketing, social media, fl yers, etc. Additionally, don't stress if you don't nail it the fi rst time; your targeting strategy will evolve and improve over time. 3. HAVE A CALL TO ACTION You should be adding a call to action to every marketing campaign you create. A call to action tells your audience what to do and how to do it. For example, do you want your client to "click here for more," "text me to hold your spot," or "book an appointment"? Also, be sure to add your call to action everywhere—your email signature, your website, social media, etc. Focus on directing clients to what you want them to do. When your client logs on to your website, they should know exactly how to book with you. The "book now" link or button should be prevalent on each page. Think about the demographic you primarily serve currently. Those are the people you should be talking to in your advertising. New member benefit!
