52 ASCP Skin Deep September/October 2021 Step 1. Cleanse the face thoroughly with Mark Lees Lait Clarifiante Deep Cleansing Formula on wet sponges. Do not tone the skin until after extraction. As an option, the Salicylic Peel can be administered here. This 5 percent salicylic gel helps remove dead corneum cells on the surface and can be used routinely during facial treatments. Unlike heavier concentrations, this peel will not cause frosting, visible peeling, or downtime. The peel is left on the skin for 5 minutes and removed with cool, wet gauze squares and sponges. Note: Detailed instructions are included with the peel. Step 2. Apply Desin-Gel Pre-Masque to clogged areas. Do not use on eye areas. Allow it to sit 8 minutes. You may steam at a distance of about 18 inches for 2 minutes prior to Desin-Gel application and during the sitting time. If using galvanic, apply directly over the Desin-Gel using a negative active electrode. This complex of surfactants breaks down fatty plugs and loosens impactions for easier extraction. mark lees's Extraction Treatment Protocol for Licensed Professionals Step 3. Remove Desin-Gel with wet sponges, and proceed with extraction in a normal manner, but not to exceed 7 minutes. We use a cotton swab extraction method and/or the bt-micro ultrasonic spatula. After extraction, you must apply Tonique Clarifiante Skin Balancing Formula to lower the pH.
