5 Ways to Freshen
Your Space
The interior design of your spa tells your clients
exactly who you are and the experience you
want to give them: calm and serene, lively and
energetic, sophisticated and elegant, happy and
fun. What do your clients see when they walk
into your space?
The Spa Industry Association offers tips to
create the story of your spa through design:
1. Plan it Out
First and foremost, precisely plan it out.
Before you buy that next cool thing that
catches your eye, check your finances and
create a budget. Know exactly how much
you're willing to spend to refresh your space.
2. Revamp the Existing Space
Before trashing everything and starting over,
look at existing elements with a fresh eye.
From repainting to wallpapering to texturing,
a lot can be done with the walls. Furniture
can be refinished and reupholstered. When it
comes to shelving and display cases, a can of
spray paint can change everything.
3. Enhance the Entrance
Have just enough money to redo one
space? The first impression is the lasting
impression—so allow your entrance to tell
your story. It should introduce your brand
image at the first glance.
4. Add Plants
Adding plants adds life—and fresh oxygen.
Do a little research to see which plants can
thrive in your space and that require little
maintenance.
5. Keep Everything Organized
An unorganized space tells clients you are
messy and unprofessional. Every element of
your space should be precisely organized. Pay
attention to how you work and what you need
within arm's reach. Find pretty and practical
ways to organize backbar products, tools,
and retail. And, it should go without saying,
everything should be clean and dust-free.
