Most clients visit your spa not only for its healthful treatments but also as a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of their daily routines. And now that the coronavirus pandemic has overtaken every aspect of our lives, those precious moments of downtime have become even more dear. A spa visit used to be like hitting the rest stop on a busy highway, but now it's like finding a lifesaving oasis in the middle of a brutal, unforgiving desert. While COVID-19 has placed many obstacles in our way, the esthetician's role is now more important than ever. The pandemic has impacted women more greatly than men, in terms of their roles and responsibilities, which has increased their need for the relaxing, rejuvenating services found in their local spa. 1 The problem is, many clients are wary of public places and nervous when they're in them, and service providers are feeling the stress of trying to perform normal functions in a far-from-normal world.
