In light of everything going on in the world, I believe we all need to move out of our comfort zone of being behind the treatment table and get creative with our businesses. It may be quite some time before doing a facial on a client goes back to that way it used to be— or perhaps it may never go back to what normal was for us. It's time to put on our selling caps and make sure we're positioned to earn an income from our websites. I created my own website back in 2005, which is really quite funny. I am the most unsavvy computer gal around, but I was determined not to spend money for someone else to make my website. I was very proud of my creation, but as the years went by I was gently nudged by other professionals to move out of the Flintstone era. It was suggested that I get an updated website. I squelched this idea time and time again. I made excuses and I voiced my concerns about losing control of being able to change my content. I took pride in my old-fashioned website and no one was going to change my mind. I do have a stubborn streak! I finally came to my senses and took a good hard look at what I had created, and I have to tell you, I could see what others were telling me and I had a nice belly laugh. I gave in and admitted that it was time to reach out to a professional. I can wholeheartedly tell you that it was the best thing I ever did for my business, and I am so happy that I did. Within 30 days of my new website going live, it had created enough new business for it to pay for itself. After interviewing quite a few companies, I ultimately decided to go with Beverlee Garb of www.estheticianwebsites.com. My decision was based on these factors: Her family has been in the industry for over 40 years. They own BioKosmetik of Texas. Beverlee started a spa many years ago, successfully grew that spa, and then sold it. She's been an industry consultant for years with websites being her expertise. With all that experience, I felt that she would be in tune with the esthetic industry and thus she would understand the message I wanted to get across. I ended up enjoying the process of creating this new website with Beverlee. We spent time on the phone with her asking many questions. She needed to get a feel of who I am and what the message was that I wanted to convey. I like this statement from her: "Confused buyers do not buy." My old website had way too much content and I'm sure my potential buyers were quite confused. My new website has been up and running for over two years now, and traffic to my website continues to grow each month. Beverlee handles the behind- the-scenes work to make sure my website stays relevant. Even though she's taught me how to make some changes myself, which I enjoy, she's always available for the more complicated work, and her pricing is very affordable! I urge you to position yourself for success in this new business model we're all being thrown into. Make sure your website shows you in your best light! Go to www.estheticianwebsites.com for info.
