Our hearts are always full of compassion for clients, so what do we do now? We pivot! We dig out our grit, and we pivot. We continue to stay engaged with our clients. We continue to show our compassion. Our doors will open again, and our thoughtfulness will not be forgotten. Here in Washington State, where this pandemic first began in the US, we were out of work for weeks before other states began limiting business. It was either give in and do nothing, or pivot and do something. As for me, I have always been a go-getter and passionate about being kind and generous. I'm a serial entrepreneur, Master Esthetician, ASCP's 2019 Esty of the Year, mom of three, and an Air Force wife. Three years ago, I created a summit based on wellness and wisdom for women of the military at Joint Base Lewis McChord here in Washington. Three weeks ago, I sat on my bed with a heavy heart because I had no clients, a loss of product sales, and—worst of all—I had to make the choice to cancel my summit set for May 27. I sat there for a minute, and that's when I had my pivoting moment that immediately changed my everyday life. I realized at that moment that I may not be able treat clients—and my online retail sales are more than 50 percent less than usual—but I can turn a negative into a positive. I have done it before. As I was mulling over whether to cancel my newest summit, it occurred to me that every woman now feels the stress that women of the military have felt for centuries. I decided in this moment to rise up and create a virtual summit to invite every woman into our community. One of love, support, and power. When we bond together, we can achieve the impossible. We all need each other to get through this. We need to connect and lift one another during this time, as some of us are on the frontline of battle. My heart is now full, knowing I can reach thousands of women and provide a virtual platform to help them #ReadySetRiseUp during this crisis. So, what can you do to pivot your business? What about doing Zoom calls with your clients? How about providing easy home remedies, massage techniques, facial tutorials, or tips on how to treat their hands to keep them hydrated and exfoliated from the constant handwashing— like a simple homemade sugar hand scrub recipe? What about offering packages with some great deals they can't turn down? The ideas are endless if you pivot, stay engaged, and stay compassionate! We can all get through this. As for me, my inbox (just like my door) is open, and I am always willing to help share ideas and provide great resources that can help you and your business! A Day of Love, Support, and Power I want to invite every woman into our community by taking part in my #ReadySetRiseUP Wellness & Wisdom Virtual Summit, June 3, 2020. The summit will feature inspirational and informational presentations. Because when women bond together, we can achieve the impossible. I hope to see you there!
