Our culture's Eurocentric ideal of beauty is
finally changing. Consumer marketing is also
expanding beyond the white, blonde-haired, blue-
eyed standard of beauty that has been instituted
for decades. Our country is experiencing a quiet
revolution in diversity and inclusivity. In 1970, 77
percent of the US population was white. By 2015, 38
percent of our population identified itself as white.

National Geographic predicts that within 40 years, our
population will be more than 50 percent multiethnic.
