Before my services, I always send my clients a message asking how they feel about their skin and what their goals are with their treatment. Afterward, I send them home with samples I recommend and I follow up later in the day by emailing a treatment plan typed up just for them. A few days later, I'll ask how their skin feels and remind them to take progress pictures. Naty Noboa After a treatment, I offer them a beverage. I have things like Healthy Skin herbal tea on hand. I also customize drinks to complement seasonal facials, like peppermint hot chocolate to go with my Peppermint Twist facial and pumpkin spice lattes with a fall facial. Andrea Jenkins New clients love a handwritten snail mail thank-you card! Joanne Smith I do strictly waxing, so I make them comfortable during their service by making them laugh! Ashley Kennedy During their complimentary skin and body consultation, I work with my clients to establish realistic expectations from the get-go. Posttreatment follow-ups are a wonderful way to make sure clients are not only comfortable, but also treated on a personal level at all times. Cait Nicole Answer our next question: How do you deal with difficult clients? Email your answer to editor@ascpskincare.com. Your answer could appear in the May/June 2019 issue and may be edited for length and clarity. » For first-time clients, I always explain what product I'm using on their skin, what it does, and why I'm using it. After every service, I follow up with my clients within 48 hours to see how their skin is feeling. Blyssey Lynch When I walk into the room, I first make sure they're comfortable, then I always ask them how their day has been while I'm wrapping their hair. We talk about what they'd like to accomplish with their skin, then, I walk them through what I'm doing— if they'd like me to. I listen to my clients as well. If they're not comfortable with something, I don't push. We take baby steps until they're ready. Alyssa Colligan Heidi Marie Nolan
